How to Bid Online

  • Unlike a Webcast or live auction, there is no auctioneer and you are not required to secure a paddle number. You simply find the item you want, enter a price, and follow the instructions as they are presented.

    Find Your Item

    From the homepage (or in the auction calendar or via the search facility), click the name of the auction/asset in which you are interested.

    You are now on the Auction Details page.

    Click "Lot Catalog" on the right-hand side of the page. You are now on the Lot Catalog page.

    Find and click on an item on which you want to place a bid. You are now on the Asset Detail page.

    Enter a bid price and press "Place Bid".

    Agree to Terms

    The first time you place an online bid at a sale, you will need to -

    Agree to the Sale-Specific terms and conditions

    Create an account (if you are not already logged in or do not already have one)

    Enter a valid credit card if prompted. NOTE: Your card will not be charged, but an amount (displayed on that page) will be held for a period of several days to a month, as determined by your bank. This authorized amount is used to confirm your address, the validity of the card, and is used as a deposit in cases of last resort.

    Submit Bid

    Each time you place an online bid, you must -

    Review it, enter your account password, and submit it. Bids are not placed until they are submitted from this page. NOTE: Some items have hidden reserve prices.

    After placing the bid, read the Comment on the "Bid and Offer Submission Status" page to know if the bid is higher than the reserve. Items lower than the reserve may not be sold.

    Bids are not accepted until you complete this step.

    My Account

    The My Account section contains information on the assets on which you are watching and bidding

    Go-Dove.com has several advanced features to help you bid quickly and remain informed. These include searching and sorting, customized equipment watch lists, and bid histories.

    Buying Tools - Watch List

    After adding assets to your watch list from the Asset Detail page- Click "My Account" at the top of the screen. This page contains your account management tools and the lots you have marked to "Watch," allowing you to keep up to date with the items/auctions progress.

    Buying Tools - Bids and Offers

    Click "My Account" at the top of the screen and then click on the "Buying Tools" tab. This pageshows the items on which you bid, the current price, whether you are the high bidder, the reserve status, and more.
